In Columbus and Franklin County, the Community Shelter Board's January 2024 point-in-time count revealed a homelessness count of 2,380, a 1.8% increase from 2023, marking an all-time high.

· According to a 2024 OSU study, nearly 50% of households in Franklinton face food insecurity.
St. Aloysius Community Outreach has provided and personally served over 27,000 freshly prepared meals, along with basic needs including toiletries, blankets, tents, sleeping bags, and non-perishable foods to those underserved, unsheltered, and living in homeless camps. Outreach events include the Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner, the Monthly Community Meals, Summer Cookouts, Holiday Food Giveaways, and weekly meal distribution to those we serve by the Take It To The Streets Team.
